PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve-timing adjusting device which has excellent responsivity of phase control to the advanced angle side regardless of the magnitude of fluctuations in torque, and has a small number of parts. SOLUTION: A shoe housing 12 receives driving force from a crankshaft, and a vane rotor 15 rotates integrally with a camshaft. Then the vane rotor 15 is housed in the shoe housing 12 with flexible rotation, and the vanes 15a, 15b, and 15c of the vane rotor 15 divide each of the three housing chambers 50 into a retard angle oil pressure chamber and an advanced angle oil pressure chamber. Then a check valve 80 is provided at an advanced angle supply passage 223 which is on the side closer to the advanced angle oil pressure chamber 56 than a bearing 2 of the camshaft. Then the check valve 80 allows the flow of hydraulic fluid from an oil pump 202 into the advanced angle oil pressure chamber 56 through the advanced angle supply passage 223, and prohibits backflow of the hydraulic fluid from the advanced angle oil pressure chamber 56 to the oil pump 202 side through the advanced angle supply passage 223.
