PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broad area antenna which supports with a transparent body an electrode structure having improved broad band antenna element to receive radio wave of a frequency ranging in a wide area with a single antenna element and a decorative electrode structure and is served also as interior decoration. SOLUTION: Near the center of a rectangular conductor plate 2 is provided with: an upward inner side 3c almost in parallel with an upper part outer side 2a on the conductor plate 2; right and left upward inner sides 3a and 3b extending almost vertically from both ends of the upward inner side 3c; downward inner sides 3d slanting downward to the lower part of the inner side from bottom ends of the right and left upper inner sides 3a and 3b; and cut-out holes 3 having a narrow communicating groove hole 5 vertically provided towards the bottom edge 2d of the conductor plate 2 from the bottom end of the right and left lower inner sides 3d. The conductor plate 2 of the broad band antenna element 1 is made opaque and a member for supporting the conductor plate 2 is constituted of the transparent body, and the cut-out holes 3 provided for the conductor plate 2 are displayed as decoration patterns.
