<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press mold which can give a profile by only an upper die and a lower die, can exert sufficient pressing pressure till the end of molding, and can therefore give a glass lens of excellent transfer accuracy and to provide a method for producing a glass lens by using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The press mold comprises an upper die on which one of the optical surfaces of a glass lens is formed, a lower die on which the other of the optical surfaces is formed, and a cylindrical drum die which allows the upper and lower dies to slide relatively and is characterized in that at least either of the upper and lower dies has a recess for forming the one optical surface and part of the thickness, the corners of that sidewall of the recess which forms the thickness are chamfered, the upper and lower dies do not abut against each other in a pressed state, and the relationship between the vertical positions of the upper and lower dies is not determined by the cylindrical drum die. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
