PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a novel method of reducing horizontal earth pressure applied to a facility, without using a horizontal reinforcing material on its inside, for strengthening in the horizontal direction. SOLUTION: This invention is a rainwater storage permeation facility burying an arranged object provided with a storage member under the ground, covering the periphery of the arranged object with a sheet for preventing sediment from intruding inside the arranged object and forming an inside space of the arranged object as a storage space of rainwater. In an earth pressure reducing method of the rainwater storage permeation facility, an upwardly inclined plate is buried in substantially parallel in a plurality to a side surface of the storage permeation facility. The horizontal earth pressure applied to the facility is reduced by enhancing frictional force with earth by the plate, by laying an obliquely upwardly directed plate and a sheet material on a side surface of the facility.
