PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for preventing dandruff and itching especially improving roughness of the scalp caused by drying. SOLUTION: The composition for preventing dandruff and itching contains (A) an extract of Betulaplatyphylla var. japonica and (B) an antibacterial agent. By using the extract of Betulaplatyphylla var. japonica together with the antibacterial agent, the composition for preventing dandruff and itching expresses strong effects in preventing and improving dandruff and itching to the rough scalp damaged by drying and stimulating materials and is mild with little stimulation.
