<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a human body by using images photographed with near-infrared rays. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a plurality of near-infrared light sources 551, 552 having wavelengths different from each other, an imaging lens 56 for imaging an object, an imaging device 57 for forming an image of the object, an infrared ray transmitting filter 58 which interrupts transmission of visible light, a storage means 62 for storing the image of the object formed by this imaging device, and moreover storing spectral reflectance information comprising the wavelengths of near-infrared rays and the spectral reflectances of human skin made to correspond to each other, a property extraction means 6 for extracting the relation of magnitude of a pixel value at a predetermined pixel in each object image photographed by near-infrared rays of each wavelength, and a determination means 6 for determining whether or not the image is one obtained by photographing skin, by comparing the relationship of magnitude of the pixel value extracted by this property extraction means with the spectral reflectance information, and for determining that a region where pixels determined to be skin are concentrated and occupy a predetermined area is a skin region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
