PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering an organic compound, capable of taking out the organic compound having a low water content, by distilling an aqueous organic compound-containing solution containing the organic compound. SOLUTION: In this method for recovering organic compound, aqueous butanol solutions (aqueous organic compound-containing solutions) C and D are fed into a distillation column 11 (a first distillation means), and then distilled, so that an aqueous butanol solution K (an extracted aqueous organic compound-containing solution) is taken out from a side cut part 12. The taken-out aqueous butanol solution K is discharged through a pipe, then joined, at a joining part, to an aqueous butanol solution N which is preliminarily distilled by a distillation column 14 and taken out, and mixed therewith at a mixing part. Further, the solution thus mixed is fed into a liquid-liquid separation device 13, so that an aqueous butanol solution L having the low water content is separated from a low concentration butanol M, based on specific gravity, and taken out. Furthermore, the taken-out aqueous butanol solution L having the low water content is distilled by the distillation column 14, and finally the butanol P is taken out. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
