<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological information detecting device for vehicles which precisely detects breathing or pulses of a passenger regardless of changes in the position of the passenger. <P>SOLUTION: This biological information detecting device for vehicles for detecting periodical changes in breathing or pulses of a driver has a body pressure measuring sensor 21 provided on a seat of the vehicle and is equipped with a body pressure measuring part for measuring a body pressure applied by the seated driver and a periodical change detecting part for detecting the periodical changes in breathing and pulses of the driver based on the measurement result of the measured body pressure. The body pressure measuring sensor 21 is provided at a position which has a height of 10-25 cm above a seat cushion in a lower part of a seat back and corresponds to a lumbar part of the driver in the lower part of the seat back, and has a movable mechanism 23 which changes the position of the body pressure measuring sensor 21 forward and backward in the seat back by the movement of a lumbar board 22 so that the measured body pressure remains within a prescribed range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
