PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator reduced in size and manufacturing costs by using piezoelectric vibrator having versatility. SOLUTION: The oscillator is made at least its conductive portion except for mounting terminal portion to be sealed by resin and comprises: a substrate 60 having the mounting terminal portion 62 at a bottom surface; the piezoelectric vibrator 35 fixed on an upper surface of the substrate, accommodating a piezoelectric vibration piece 37 within a package 36 sealed with a lid, and having a plurality of external terminal portions 42, 43 each electrically connected to the piezoelectric vibration piece on a surface of the package; and an oscillation circuit element 50 fixed on a surface of the package 36 opposing to the surface to be mounted on the substrate 60 and for constituting an oscillation circuit. The substrate 60 has a plurality of conductive terminal portions 63a to 63d each electrically connected to the mounting terminal portion 62 on its upper surface, and the external terminal portions 42, 43, and the conductive terminal portions 63a to 63d are electrically connected to the oscillation circuit element 50.
