PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium suitable for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus provided with a continuous servo method by which a recording signal SIG and a servo signal PES can be obtained simultaneously without deteriorating S/N of a reproduced signal. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording medium is provided with: a plurality of recording track consisting of a first material whose magnetic anisotropic energy is relatively low and provided in a concentric circle state; and a plurality of guard band consisting of a second material whose magnetic anisotropic energy is relatively high and provided alternately with the recording track in a concentric circuit state.
