PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain fine grain powder of a platinum group alloy having large surface ruggedness and suitable for catalyst metal. SOLUTION: The fine alloy grain powder having a rugged surface is the powder of an alloy comprising T and M in a compositional ratio satisfying the formula [T<SB>X</SB>M<SB>1-X</SB>] (wherein, T denotes at least one selected from Fe, Co and Ni; M denotes at least one selected from Pt, Pd and Ru; and X denotes the numerical value in the range of 0.1 to 0.9). In the alloy grain powder, the average grain diameter (D<SB>TEM</SB>) measured by TEM observation is≤50 nm, X-ray crystal grain diameter (Dx) is≤10 nm, a plurality of angles are observed on the surfaces of the grains by TEM observation, and also, dents are observed between the angles. In the alloy grain powder, crystal structure is composed of face-centered cubic crystals (fcc structure), the degree of single crystallization (D<SB>TEM</SB>)/(Dx) is≥1.50, and further, the average grain diameter by a dynamic light scattering method is≤50 nm.
