PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezer/air conditioner and a failure prediction method therefor, in which a failure of the freezer/air conditioner can be easily predicted. SOLUTION: A freezer that is the freezer/air conditioner comprises a refrigerant compressor 11 in a refrigerant circuit 10, and the refrigerant compressor 11 has an oil extraction port 20 for extracting freezer oil. The failure prediction of the freezer is performed by measuring a phosphoric ion concentration in the freezer oil extracted from the oil extraction port 20, and predicting the presence/absence of failure from the level of the measured phosphoric ion concentration.
