Tele-medicine. Automated tele-cardiography concerns the transmission of a patient's electrocardiograms (ECGs) from his room via the microphone of a telephone apparatus and the telecommunications network. The ECG is sent directly to the mobile phone or FAX or e-mail address of the specific cardiologist of the patient's choice or the tele-cardiography subscriber's choice, through an automated process. The ECGs are recorded and entered into the telecommunications network via cardiographs- transmitters of modulated acoustic signals. The means of automation is the utilization of equipment and software of an IVR system (Interactive Voice Responce). It provides the cardiologists with the possibility of remote monitotring and consulting their patients, based on their cardiogram that will have been recorded just a few minutes beforehand. |
