PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformation method for a microorganism such as Escherichia coli or yeast or a transfection or infection method for a floating cell on a device for the comprehensive analysis in a cellular level of the information such as the change in gene expression over time, the phenotype derived from a gene and the intracellular localization of a gene product which has been difficult or impossible to evaluate or analyze on a DNA microarray. SOLUTION: The transformation method and the transfection or infection method for cells comprises efficiently taking several kinds of DNA vectors preliminarily immobilized on a solid substrate into cells (including microorganisms and mammal cells, the same hereinafter) in microwells, respectively, separated physical passage barriers using fine passages, preventing the mutual coexistence of the different DNA vector-taken cells with the physical barriers of the passages, then contacting the same solid phase substrate with a selection culture medium to selectively culture the cells, promoting the expression induction of target genes in the microwells, respectively, transforming or transfecting the cells in the microwells, respectively, and detecting the activity of the expressed reporter protein.
