A process for cleansing a component, especially a marble or ceramic component, comprises applying an air-tight sleeve (3) made of plastic. A vacuum is then applied, and then a cleansing agent is introduced into the sleeve. A second plastic film is applied to the first, and the space between them is evacuated until the cleansing medium evaporates.
