DEVICE FOR PAYING FOR TRAVEL IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT BY CHARGE CARDS

The proposed device for paying for travel in public transport by charge cards contains a check unit and units for indicating stops of the vehicle on the traffic route. The check unit is installed in the interior of each vehicle and contains a unit for reading data from charge cards and identifying the card owners. Each charge card provides a possibility to write, to the memory unit of the card, a sum that remained from the advance payment sum after paying for travel. The unit for reading data from charge cards and identifying the card users contains a number of memory units designed for storing the identification data of card owners, data on transport tariffs, and data on the traffic route of the vehicle. The number of the memory units for storing the data on the traffic route corresponds to the number of stops of the vehicle at the route. The number of the memory units for storing the identification data corresponds to the number of passenger seats in the interior of the vehicle. The communication of signals between the unit for reading data from charge cards and identifying the card owners and the units for indicating stops of the vehicle on the traffic route is accomplished by wireless communication facilities. The data from the charge card are read form the charge card and written to the card when the card owner enters the interior of the vehicle. The check of payment for travel is accomplished when the card owner leaves the interior of the vehicle.
