A handle (30) operates an automotive door opening and closing mechanism, which has a lock cylinder (60) and key. The handle operation is via a lever (30) and rotation of the lock cylinder (60) action transfer to a pick-up (45). The pick-up (45) action is transferred to the lever (30) by a pushrod (50). The lever (30) has an adjustable bearing position (31, 11) which is determined by the pushrod (50) with respect to the lock cylinder (60) rotational position. The arrangement alters the lever operating ratios relative to a connector (40) to the lock.
