FIELD: powder metallurgy; gas-absorbing systems. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes production of gas absorber in the form of molded gas-absorbing components, their placement in enclosed space and bringing in active state. Each gas-absorbing component is made of at least one metal of group Ti, V, Zr, Nb, Hf, or their alloys in powdered state with addition of product of chemical combination of gas-absorber material and active gas other than gases removed in amount of maximum 30% of gas-absorber material mass. At least one interlayer of Ti, C, and/or B is disposed between gas-absorber layers. Material is brought in active state by inflaming interlayer by local initiation of burning reaction at several points including self-spreading high-temperature fusion within gas-absorber space. ^ EFFECT: ability of pumping out gases at high pressures, high speed, and in large volumes. ^ 11 cl |
