PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in a waiting period for detecting packets on spatially multiplexed channels and power consumption during receiving packets. SOLUTION: In a reception waiting phase, only a part of a plurality of receiving branches is used for detecting packets and remaining receiving branches not used for detecting packets are stopped from implementing receiving operations, thus attaining the reduction of the power consumption during waiting for detecting packets. In the packet receiving phase, only the receiving branches minimum necessary for receiving spatially multiplexed signals by MIMO transmission are operated to reduce the power consumption during receiving MIMO signals.
