The invention relates to a semiconductor laser component with a semiconductor laser chip (1), which is provided for generating radiation, and with an optical device, which comprises a support (7), a radiation diverting element (8) mounted on this support, and a mirror also mounted on said support. This mirror is provided in the form of an external mirror (9) of an external optical resonator for the semiconductor laser chip (1). The radiation diverting element is placed inside the resonator and is designed for diverting at least a portion of a radiation (13, 160) generated by the semiconductor laser chip (1) and reflected by the external mirror. The support has a lateral principal direction of extension, and the semiconductor laser chip (1) is located downstream from the support in a vertical direction with regard to the lateral principal direction of extension.
