<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device having a simple and inexpensive configuration and capable of easily and accurately recording on a recording medium such as a thick paper and a paper having thickness and high rigidity such as CD-R and incorporating a tray conveyance mechanism without increasing size of the device. <P>SOLUTION: This recording device is provided with an openable and closable tray base 102 for inserting a tray 103 from the downstream side in a conveyance part. A release member 105 having an inclined part 1051 in a tip part is connected with the tray base.
