PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the clogging of a filter or the lowering of the detection precision of a level sensor by eliminating the effect of dust produced by the feed of a resin material when the gas generated in the casing of a heating cylinder is sucked and exhausted. SOLUTION: This raw material feeder for the synthetic resin molding machine is equipped with a raw material storage means 300 having a damper device, an automatic feeder 4 having a raw material charging cylindrical part for receiving the raw material from the raw material storage means 300 to feed the same to a raw material charging port 70, an air sucking source 8 for sucking air in the raw material charging cylindrical part to reduce the pressure in the cylindrical part and a control means for controlling not only the operation of the automatic feeder 4 but also the operation of the air sucking source 8. The automatic feeder 4 is controlled by the control means so that the operation thereof is started interlocking with the start of a metering process after the injection process of the synthetic resin molding machine is completed and stopped interlocking with the completion of the metering process. The operation of the air sucking source 8 is started interlocking with the completion of the metering process and stopped before the next feed of the resin raw material is started.
