PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous adhesive which has slight reduction in bond strength with time after blending with a polyfunctional isocyanate-based crosslinking agent, improved ordinary bond strength and initial bond strength, high stability of a main agent at a low temperature, an inexpensive energy cost due to production of a main agent at a relatively low temperature and high productivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing an aqueous adhesive comprises mixing (A) a vinyl alcohol-based polymer powder having≥1.9 mol% of 1,2-glycol bond with (B) an aqueous emulsion to prepare a main agent at 60°C and blending the main agent with (C) a polyfunctional isocyanate compound.
