PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmission system which is free of hindrance to information transmission among client devices. SOLUTION: When clients 3 and 7 communicate with each other via a different network 2, a node A maps a specified part in the overhead of data from the client 3 to its unused part and a node C maps the specified part mapped to the unused part in the overhead of the data to be outputted to the client 7 back to the original position in the overhead. The node A adds a byte for error monitoring, included in the specified part to a parity arithmetic result of the data from the client 3 and maps the result as a byte for error monitoring. The node C adds the byte for error monitoring, mapped to the unused part to the parity arithmetic result of the data to be outputted to the client 7, and puts the result as the byte for error monitoring back to the original position in the overhead.
