PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the work efficiency and the productivity by mounting a chip type electronic element to a notched part of a base, thereby bringing a mount space of an integrated circuit element close to an outer size of the integrated circuit element without limit. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric oscillator and a manufacturing method therefor are disclosed. The piezoelectric oscillator is constituted in such a way that the notched part 20 is formed in an edge of an upper side of other principal side of a substrate and the base provided with two electronic element connection electrode pads 21B electrically connected and fixed to the chip type electronic element 22 is formed in a bottom side of the notched part 20, at least one chip type electronic element 22 is arranged at such a position of the notched part 20 that a grounding electrode of the chip type electronic element 22 locates at least one corner of the bottom side of the base. An external connection electrode terminal electrically connected to the integrated circuit element 18 is formed at the remaining corners of the bottom side of the base on which no chip type electronic element 22 is arranged.
