摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the removal efficiency of gaseous hydrogen chloride contained in the exhaust gas discharged from waste treatment facilities such as an incinerator and a melting furnace, to prolong a period of maintenance work of a cooling tower and to reduce the equipment cost and running cost by a simple apparatus for dispensing with temperature control of a dust collector or an exhaust duct. <P>SOLUTION: Clumpy limestone is packed in a reaction tank arranged on a flow passage of the high-temperature exhaust gas discharged from the incinerator, the melting furnace or the like so that hydrogen chloride gas contained in the exhaust gas is reacted with the packed limestone to produce calcium chloride and recover the produced calcium chloride. The temperature of the reaction tank is kept at the melting point of calcium chloride or above and at the melting point of quicklime or below so that the produced calcium chloride is discharged from the reaction tank in a melted state.
