PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitting module and an optical receiving module which can reduce cross talk, are mounted easily and can secure high reliability. SOLUTION: The optical transmitting module 10 is provided with a laser diode 11 and a substrate 15 for mounting the laser diode 11. The laser diode 11 has a surface electrode and a rear-surface electrode which are faced mutually. On the surface of substrate 15, there are equipped respectively a signal-transmission line 16 and equipotential plains 17 and 18 which are isolated from the both sides of a signal-transmission line 16. The rear-face electrode of the laser diode 11 is electrically connected to the signal-transmission line 15 directly. The surface electrode of the laser diode 11 is electrically connected to the equipotential plain 17 by a metal wire 13.
