PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding wheel and a grinding method for efficiently obtaining a machined surface of high quality with less surface roughness in grinding a brittle material such as glass. SOLUTION: In the grinding wheel comprising abrasive grains and a binder, tungsten carbide with a grain diameter of 0.2μm to 10μm is used as the abrasive grains, and at least one kind selected out of a group comprising cobalt, nickel, iron, aluminum and chromium is used as the binder. The grinding wheel is approximately cylindrical, and the tip part of the grinding wheel is formed in a curved surface and provided with a flute. Grinding is performed by inclining the grinding wheel obliquely to a workpiece and rotating the grinding wheel around its axis. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
