PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of shortening a time required for direction search processing for obtaining the reception direction of an antenna. SOLUTION: In omnidirectional search, as shown in a designated result A1, search processing is performed for four directions. In first and second search processing, as shown in designated results A2, A3, search processing are each performed for two directions centered at each designated direction. The search is performed eight times, and the search frequency is half in an antenna capable of switching the reception direction into 16 directions, compared to a case of searching all directions. A rough reception direction is decided at the time of ominidirectional search, thereby shortening the time required for direction search thereafter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
