摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayered phase change type information recording medium which can improve transmittance without degrading a reflectivity modulation degree of a near side information layer and in which one side multilayered recording can be well performed, and a recording and reproducing method for the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical information recording medium which is provided with two or more layers of information layers each having a recording layer for recording information by a phase change between a crystal state and an amorphous state due to light between a first substrate 3 and a second substrate 5 and has intermediate layers 4 between the respective information layers, the information layers are set to be the first information layer 1, the second information layer 2, etc., the Nth information layer by viewing from the first substrate 3 side upon which light is made incident. Then, the one or more layers of the information layers other than the Nth information layer have a layer configuration laminated with at least a lower protective layer 11, a recording layer 12, a thermal diffusion layer 13, and a transmittance improvement layer 14 in this order.
