PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera in which convenience is more improved using a display panel having an aspect ratio of 9:16. SOLUTION: A digital camera 2 comprises a liquid crystal panel 13 whose aspect ratio is 9:16. The liquid crystal panel 13 is capable of switching a standard mode for acquiring an image with an aspect ratio of 3:4, and a wide mode for acquiring an image with an aspect ratio of 9:16. During the standard mode, a mode switching dial 17 is turned into an assist display mode and when a first thumbnail image display mode is selected, a first thumbnail image is displayed on the liquid crystal panel 13 together with a through image. When a second thumbnail image display mode is selected, a second thumbnail image is displayed on the liquid crystal panel 13 together with the through image.
