PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend viewable conditions of digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver is provided with a normal broadcast processor 1 for performing the decoding processing of HDTV type (Hi-Vision type) signals and a simple broadcast processor 31 for performing the decoding processing of one-segment type (simple mobile object type) signals, and when HDTV type broadcast is received, the normal broadcast processor 1 performs the decoding processing of an HDTV signal, included in a signal inputted from an OFDM decoding master part 4 and outputs an image signal and a sound signal obtained as the result of the decoding processing to an image output processing part 41 and a sound processing part 45. When the one-segment type broadcast is received, the simple broadcast processor 31 decodes an one-segment type signal, included in the signal inputted from the OFDM decoding master part 4 and outputs an image signal and a sound signal, obtained as a result of decoding processing to the image output processing part 41 and the sound processing part 45.
