PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample insulating container capable of reducing the amount of an insulating substance as compared with a conventional sample insulating container. SOLUTION: The sample insulating container is equipped with a placing part for placing a sample, the insulating substance for holding the sample to a cooled state, the insulating substance holding part arranged so as to be connected to the placing part to hold the insulating substance therein and a container which houses the insulating substance holding part and is characterized in that at least a part of the inner surface thereof is provided so as to have a gap with respect to the insulating substance holding part.
