SOLUTION: Immediately after start, a "correction idle torque (PID value)" when actual engine speed NE is converged to target idle engine speed NEF is stored in a memory means as a start value. At start of next feedback control, idle control is performed by using the start value stored in the memory means. Since the "correction idle torque (PID value)" when the actual engine speed NE is converged to the target idle engine speed NEF is a value for absorbing and correcting the variation, the actual engine speed NE can be converged to the target idle engine speed NEF for a short time immediately after start.
