<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell superior both in durability and catalyst performance. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode for solid polymer fuel comprises a catalyst layer which has two constitutions having a geometrical pattern, one of which is scattered in island shape, and the other of which has a groove structure to fill the spacings between the island shaped portions, and furthermore in which the island shaped portion has hydrophilic characteristics and the groove structure portion has water repellency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
