PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timepiece of enhanced aesthetics for effectively utilizing a space surrounded by a step part of a case back for the timepiece. SOLUTION: This timepiece 1 is equipped with: the case back 5 for the timepiece comprising a back plate 6 substantially transparent wholly or partly, and a hold frame 8 for holding the back plate 6 and having the step part 82 formed on an inner circumferential part 81, the step part 82 with which an edge part of an inner surface 61 of the back plate 6 makes contact; and a movement 3 comprising a rotary weight 9 for storing therein driving energy by rotating. The rotary weight 9 is provided with a rotary weight decoration part 10 visually recognized via the back plate 6. Together with the rotation of of the rotary weight 9, the decoration part 10 rotates in the space 52 surrounded by the step part 82 on the inner surface 61 side of the back plate 6.
