PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust control valve of a new structure, making the mechanism for controlling exhaust noise compact. SOLUTION: This exhaust control valve adopts a turning position setting and holding mechanism for holding a valve body in a predetermined turning position by utilizing the pressing state of a turning shaft side abutting part 28 to a passage wall side abutting part 36 by an axial force operating mechanism 52 for applying axial force to a turning shaft with respect to the direction of pressing the turning shaft side abutting part 28 to the passage wall side abutting part 36, and altering the turning position of the valve body by releasing the axial force exerted by the axial force operating mechanism 52.
