<p>A blank (10) for a spacer (20) for an insulating window unit (30) preferably includes a core (12) made of a metal sheet, e.g., stainless steel, and a coating (14) made of a synthetic material, e.g., polypropylene. The coating (14) preferably has a thickness in the range of 0.2 mm to 2 mm, more preferably in the range of 0.9 to 1.1 mm, and the core (12) preferably has a thickness in the range of 0.05 to 2 mm, more preferably between 0.1 to 0.3 mm. Further, the insulating window unit (30) preferably includes at least two glass windows (32), which extend in parallel to a first plane and are a first distance from each other. The first distance preferably is maintained by the above-mentioned spacer (20), which spacer (20) is adhered to the glass windows (32) using an adhesive or a sealing compound (34).</p> |
