The present invention relates to an electrical contact (100), comprising a retention portion (107) for engaging a connector housing (13), said retention portion having opposed ends and defining a plane; a tail portion (103) extending from one the other of said opposed ends; and a pair of beams (101) extending from the other of said opposed ends. Each of said pair of beams further comprises a second portion (111) canted relative to said first portion (109) and the second portion (111) comprising a deformed portion (117), said second portion (111) including a contact interacting portion (113), wherein said contact interacting portions (113) of said pair of beams (101) interact to receive a contact (3) of an electrical component therebetween.
