A method and system (1) for vertically cutting and parting sheets (2) of glass, whereby a work sheet (2), positioned on edge on a substantially horizontal bottom supporting surface (P), is scored and parted at a cut station (12) to form a sheet portion (19) (20) ; the sheet portion being rotated 90° onto one edge about a fixed hinge axis (F) at the cut station (12), and resting constantly and directly on the supporting surface (P) until at least one further cutting and parting operation is completed. |
