An object recognition device comprising: an acquisition means that obtains an image for recognition, said image being the target for object recognition; a search means that searches for similar images that are similar to the image for recognition, from an image database that associates a plurality of image data to tag information and stores same; and a recognition means that, on the basis if the tag information associated to the similar images that can be obtained by the search means, recognizes an object included in the image for recognition. For example, the recognition means can use, as a recognition result, tag information having the highest number of occurrences among the tag information related to the similar images. In addition, the recognition means can calculate tag information reliability in similar images from the search results and can take this reliability into account when recognizing objects. |
