PURPOSE: A method for processing a shadow area of a dual band dual mode terminal is provided to reduce generation frequency of ping-pong phenomenon, and reduce power consumption for searching for a network. CONSTITUTION: A dual band dual mode terminal communicates with a second generation network system, maintaining the second generation network standby state. The dual band dual mode terminal receives a third generation network moving command as a broadcasting signal from the second generation network system. It is judged whether the dual band dual mode terminal receives the third generation network moving command previously. If so, the dual band dual mode terminal judges whether the time elapsed from the previous third generation network search trial is under the time limit. If so, the dual band dual mode terminal maintains the second generation network standby state. If the dual band dual mode terminal does not receive the third generation network moving command previously, the dual band dual mode terminal searches for the third generation network and maintains if the third generation network signal is found while returning to the second generation network standby state if the third generation network signal is not found. |
