<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber excess length management tool which is capable of excess length management of an optical fiber by a simple method and allows a fiber length being an object of excess length management to be freely selected and doesn't cause such large transmission loss which commercially interferes with the optical fiber to be subjected to excess length management. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber excess length management tool 10a has an approximately tabular shape and is provided with an optical fiber fitting face 11 wherein a fitting groove 12 to which an optical fiber 7 is to be fitted in a lengthwise direction is formed. The fitting groove 12 has curves 12c in one or more positions, and a minimum radius of curvature out of radiuses of curvatures of curves 12c is larger than a radius of curvature which brings about light transmission loss in an optical fiber part bent by bending the optical fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
