<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having inexpensive constitution by which the transition of an accumulation amount of waste toner can be notified beforehand at any time, wherein the accumulation amount of the waste toner can more accurately be grasped than in the conventional example. <P>SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic image forming apparatus where a toner image formed on an image carrier is transferred to transfer material and the waste toner remaining on the image carrier after transferring is removed and recovered to a recovery part, the accumulation amount of the recovered waste toner is calculated from the covering area of the toner image occupying the surface of the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
