PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery exhibiting excellent battery performance by properly resistance-welding a terminal of a sealing body and a current collector arranged direct under the terminal and to provide the manufacturing method of the sealed battery. SOLUTION: In the sealed battery, an insulating ring 8 inserted into a positive current collector 7 takes a form of being interposed between the tip of a tab 71 folded back in the positive current collector 7 and a main body part 70. As one example, a fan-shaped opening part 83 is provided in the insulating ring 8 and the tab 71 is inserted into the fan-shaped opening part.
