PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH AZIMUTH DETECTION FUNCTION, MAGNETOMETRIC SENSOR DEVICE AND ITS CALIBRATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform calibration of an azimuth detection means comprising a magnetic sensor loaded on a folding type portable electronic device without imposing a burden on a user. SOLUTION: This folding type portable electronic device loading the azimuth detection means having the magnetic sensor is equipped with an opening/closing detection means for detecting opening/closing of the portable electronic device; an offset estimation means for starting acquisition of output data from the magnetic sensor when closing end of the portable electronic device is detected by the opening/closing detection means, and estimating offset which is an output error of the magnetic sensor based on the acquired data; and a leakage magnetic field correction means for starting data acquisition for determining the leakage magnetic field generated in the portable electronic device from the magnetic sensor when opening start of the portable electronic device is detected by the opening/closing detection means, and removing an influence portion by the leakage magnetic field from the offset based on the acquired data.
