PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission belt design supporting device for allowing the optimum design of a transmission belt by efficiently determining the property of the transmission belt with high accuracy without the need for complicated calculation and accurately analyzing the behavior of a transmission belt mechanism. SOLUTION: The device comprises a transmission belt property acquiring means 1 for multiplying an initial value (Linitial) for transmission belt load-distortion property by the shift amount coefficient of the transmission belt corresponding to driving conditions to acquire the transmission belt load-distortion property, a mechanism analyzing means 6 using a transmission belt mechanism model 2 for calculating the tension of the transmission belt to be wound on a driving pulley and a driven pulley in accordance with the transmission belt load-distortion property acquired by the transmission belt property acquiring means 1, and a design condition determining means 7 for analyzing the movement of the driven pulley from the balance of the tension of the transmission belt calculated by the mechanism analyzing means 6 to determine design conditions which minimize the rotating irregularity of the driven pulley.
