The production of a ceramic composite material comprises surrounding a base member with a protective layer, and applying a porous homogeneous insulation layer to a support material. The insulation layer is in the form of a fine ceramic material, and a second high temperature-resistant ceramic is applied to the first. A further ceramic insulation layer is then applied, and the material is fired. After firing, a further mesh-type support material is applied, along with a fine pored ceramic compensation layer. The layer is then glazed.
