LUBRICANT SOLUTION FOR MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM CONTAINING FLUORINE-CONTAINING POLYETHER COMPOUND AS LUBRICANT

Disclosed is a lubricant solution for magnetic recording media containing a lubricant which can impart excellent lubricity while having excellent chemical stability and a solvent having adequate dissolving power for the lubricant and excellent dry characteristics without causing any effect on the ozone layer. Specifically disclosed is a lubricant solution containing a lubricant and a fluorine-containing alkyl ether. For example, a compound expressed as (HO-CH<SUB>2</SUB>-CF<SUB>2</SUB>(OCF<SUB>2</SUB>CF<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>d</SUB>O-)<SUB>3</SUB>Y (wherein Y represents a trivalent perfluorohydrocarbon group) is used as the lubricant, while 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,2- trifluoroethyl ether is used as the fluorine-containing alkyl ether.
