<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise detector which surely extracts noise so that the noise can be removed, and to provide a noise detection program, a noise detection method, a calibration device, a calibration program and a calibration method. <P>SOLUTION: In detecting the noise included in a patch printed to a recording medium, distribution information showing the distribution of a recording material in the patch is acquired. Distribution information influenced by the noise is emphasized on the basis of the acquired distribution information.
